Meredith LeVande has a way with putting fun into children's music.  Her CD is for ages 2-7, and I think it is perfect for my 2 year old.  My 11 month old dances with the music too.  We are a family of music lovers, and I am always searching for fun children's music that I like also.  This is a fun album with simple lyrics and rhythms that would go along with adult music.  The songs are fun and energetic.  The music finds a middle road between baby songs and pop band songs that have kids' lyrics added to music that would be otherwise played for adults.  It is nice clean family fun.  The boys and I get down with this CD in the middle of the living room.  What Are the Odds? has made it to our regular rotation of songs for play time. 

   

About Meredith LeVande

Meredith LeVande is a children's performer with a deep commitment to putting "the child" back into children's music and making it pure fun.  What Are the Odds? is her second album and follows Monkey Monkey Music with Meredith LeVande that came out in 2004.  Meredith's performing career started on the college circuit.  One day she was performing for an audience full of families and decided to improvise a presentation of tradition children's songs.  It was a success; her identity as a children's musician was born that day.  It eventually evolved into the project now known as Monkey Monkey Music.  Her  debut album was a Parenting magazine "Pick", and was in rotation on Sirius Satellite Radio, earning a grassroots reputation as a classic children's record.  Meredith LeVande is happily married and lives with her husband on New York City's Lower East Side.
