The difference between having a daughter and having sons can be seen mainly in their closets. At least in my house that is true. My 3 year old son has 4 pair of pants, 2 pairs of pajamas, and about 7 shirts. My 2 year old son has about the same. My 7 month old baby girl has more clothes than she will be able to wear in the size she is in now. I have her closet full, her dresser full, and piles of clothes filling the bottom of her closet. Granted there are sizes from 12 months on up to 3T; she is in size 12 months right now. Even with all the clothes she has, I can't help but look at clothes everywhere I go. The worst thing for me is all the deal emails I get. I get up in the morning and immediately look at Zulily; not only do they usually have cute clothes but they have all the fun accessories to go with outfits. And that is another thing. The boys don't get accessories. They have pants, shorts, pajamas, shirts, socks, swim trunks, underwear (for my 3 year old), and shoes. What more does a boy need? :) Oh wait, they do have baseball caps and sunglasses. I also check out deal emails from Gymboree, Old Navy, Carters, and The Children's Place. They all have really cute clothes. I've often thought about deleting my email subscriptions with the stores to avoid the temptation but I can't make myself do it. Shopping for baby clothes is an addiction.
The boys sometimes wear the same clothes for a couple of days. Yeah, I know I'm bad but when I know we aren't going anywhere, and they are going to be rough housing and playing outside, I don't see a point in changing their clothes if they aren't too dirty. Noelle, my princess, gets changed morning and night usually. She gets a new outfit during the day and pajamas at night. I want to get use out of as many of the clothes as I can. She wears headbands and bows even when we aren't leaving the house. The boys get bedhead, and I don't usually brush it out except for pictures. And even then, bed head makes some cute pictures :)
Noelle is my living breathing baby doll. I get to dress her and make her cute every single day. I am making the most of it while I am still in charge of dressing her. I know one day she won't be letting me pick out her daily outfits and accessories.
Boys clothes just aren't cute. Some of the toddler boys clothes are cute but my 3 year old has already grown out of toddler sizes for the most part. He wears a lot of size 4 boys clothes, and I have a hard time finding cute things for him. They tend to be characters he knows nothing about or scary or inappropriate graphics for a 3 year old. I find girls things everywhere. I've heard it gets harder as girls get older to find age appropriate sweet little girly clothes but right now at 12 months, I find more than I can pay for.
I feel the need to add a disclaimer- I don't love my boys any less than my daughter because I dress her up more. If you saw our house and all the boys' toys, you would know they are loved VERY much. Girls are just more fun to dress and buy clothes for. I buy my boys trucks and trains, and my baby girl gets clothes and hairbows. I love all my children the same.

Hi! Found you through the Alexa drop hop. You know I have 3 boys and a little girl, we're the same way. My boys will spend a whole weekend in the clothes they changed into Friday after school. While my daughter can change throughout the day. She absolutely loves getting all dolled up! My fault really, I treated her like a doll. lol. It's awesome having kids boys girls they both rock!
Come by my area when you get a chance :)

I have found that there just aren't as many clothing options for boys...especially for special occasions. My daughter is pretty picky about clothes but we still manage to fill up a large dresser with things for her :)
I'm so jealous! I want a little girl to dress up! I have 3 boys whom I love more than life itself, but I always wanted a little girl to dress up. You're right...there just aren't as many options to dress up boys! And, I'm guilty of letting my 5 year old wear the same thing if he hasn't left the house all day...the older two have to shower and change everyday...otherwise the BO can get horrible!
I'm having a little girl in March, but I've found that since I'm looking mainly in the girls' section, the little boys' section has suddenly gotten much much cuter! The grass is always greener, I guess. ;)
BTW, I'm visiting from the Alexa Drop Hop hosted by Measuring Flower and the Aubut Family. :)
I have 2 girls, ages 6 and 4. The clothes around here are overwhelming! I rarely buy clothes because everyone else does!
My 4 year old gets a lot of hand me downs from her sister but my 6 year old gets them from her cousin. That doesn't include what everyone else buys them. I actually need to go clean out their clothes again because I can't close any drawers.
i think boys can be fun to dress up too! especially when they look like little men! love it!!

HaHa I am realizing that as well...I have a 6 yo godson & a 4 month old grandbaby. My grandbaby has clothes in my room, her room, & my godson room.
Girls/women we require so much to even wear an outfit.
Loved the post & no need for a disclaimer. All mothers understand!

I am sure I would be the same way with a little girl. I have a 4 year old and he has more clothes that I know what to do with. I guess because he is my only little one I go overboard! If I had a little girl I would be in trouble since I make hairbows, I would need hairbows to match outfits and outfits to match bows! :)
Haha girls are so funny! My daughter is a shoe person! She loves everything about them! And the funny thing is I'm total opposite! I'm a flip-flop type of gal! ;-) Stopping by from Thirsty Thursday!
I love Zullily too! It's so much fun to look at all the cute things and I've found some great prices there on those cute things :-)
It's funny because honestly both my kids have about the same amount of clothes even though one is a girl and one is a boy -- I love the challenge of finding cute things for my son who loves trains and robots. My daughter is not a girly-girl or princess so she avoids frills and things and never messes with her hair so I look for cute things with owls and horses which she enjoys.
Your children are just adorable btw, I love the photos!

I only have one child, my son, who is now 15. It's been years since I've been able to buy him clothes. Now, we'll go to the store, spend hours picking out things that we're both happy with, he'll try them on and like them. When we get home, he'll go and put on his torn, old, faded clothes and I rarely see the new ones.
When he was a baby, I wanted a little girl to dress up soooo bad. As much as I hate to admit it, there were a couple of times the little girl outfit I found was so cute that for a moment, the thought of putting it on him just for the sake of dressing him up did cross my mind. I never did, thankfully haha.
I loved dressing my little girl up when she was small... then she hit about 7 and became a tomboy and now that she's a teenager she's finally started liking clothes again... but she doesn't want mom to shop with her... or for her (heaven forbid) but I do go a little nuts buying clothes for my boys too... they have way more than they need but I find cute things and they call my name...
I also wanted to let you know that this week's Thirsty for Comments is up and we'd love to have you pop over and link up again!
I have 2 girls, twins who are almost 7, and I have always love dressing them up and buying them clothes. They have always had more clothes than they could possibly need. But I am the same way with my little guy who is 2, I find so many cute things for him and love picking out outfits for him, he also has way tooo many clothes. I always here that people just can't find cute things for boys and I find sooo much cute stuff!
