About the illustrator:

Laura J. Bryant studied painting, printmaking, and sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. She has illustrated numerous award-winning children’s books, including God Gave Us You, Smudge Bunny, and If You Were My Baby. Laura lives in Asheville, North Carolina.  

My thoughts:

This is such a cute little book; I love that it is a board book because it's more durable and all my kids can look at it on their own.  The illustrations are just beautiful, colorful, and alive.  My 3 year old loves just looking through the book at the pictures on his own.  Both boys enjoy the story being read to them.  It is about different kinds of love especially God's love for us.  It can be a bit preachy but it is right on message with Christian beliefs and the bible.  It's a great book and tool if you want your children to understand about God's love through Jesus.  And don't let it being a board book fool you.  It's definitely still for about 3 and up.  The story is wordy and the message would be a little hard for the little ones to understand.  I just love the beautiful pictures of the polar bear family and the otters they run into while fishing.  I thought the illustrations really caught my son's attention and got him enthralled in the story.  It's a great spiritual lesson
