My Thoughts:
I used to watch American Idol but I don't anymore. I did watch several episodes of the season that Scott MacIntyre was on American Idol. I always thought he was inspirational and incredibly talented. I didn't realize how completely inspirational his life is. He could have been sucked completely into depression, accepted defeat, and became a victim. But he didn't. Scott kept going, kept fighting, and set out to reach his dreams. The book was an enjoyable read. It read really well, and I was sucked in immediately and wanted to read from start to finish. Scott has such a beautiful loving family. I kept getting tears in my eyes how strong they all are. and how they support each other at every turn no matter if one of them gets left behind or has to shoulder all the responsibility. I loved hearing a little about the behind the scenes of American Idol from his view. This was a fascinating autobiography written by the prodigy. I was completely moved by the whole story. I hope Scott and his whole family have no more health scares and no more brushes with death. They all deserve to be happy and healthy. I can't imagine all the selflessness and sacrifices the parents and even the middle brother has that most would not immaculate. Their faith gets them through all trials.
