The Beach!

Labor Day weekend, my family headed to our property on Lopez Island (in the San Juan Islands in Northern Washington State).  The property has been in my family since 1920 and we have a couple (very) rustic cabins right on the water.  There is no electricity or running water, but I've been going every year since I was 6 weeks old.  I truly love it up there.  And I'm excited to continue with a new generation: my daughter!  I think she was born with "island" dna - she refused to wear shoes the whole time.  I remember doing that as a kid too.
