Subscription Boxes! Julep Maven October Box Review

You know you want more subscription box reviews!  I aim to please, so here is another one!  This time from Julep!  Oh, how I love Julep!

WHAT IS IT?
Julep Maven is a monthly curated nail polish subscription box.  It costs $19.99 a month and you receive at least $40 worth of nail polish and products.  You start by filling out a quiz and then learn your style profile (American Beauty, Boho Glam, It Girl, Bombshell and Classic with a Twist).  Each month, you will receive an email about the contents of your box.  And you can decide to: get your box, try a different style, skip a month or send to a friend.  Honestly, I think that's the best part.  I love that you have so many options!  There are also a ton of other perks.  Like 20% off in the Maven online store, the option for add-ons at ridiculously cheap prices, purchase mystery gold boxes, etc.

WHAT'D I GET?
This month's theme was "Simply Bewitching".  I actually changed my style from Boho Glam to It Girl this month.  The box had three colors for Halloween:
  • Glenda: Silver metallic crackle polish
  • Leslie: Black and silver speckled polish
  • Caroline: Dark Burgundy shimmer
There were also a couple extras!  Candy corn (cute!) and orange and silver loose glitter.

The unveiling - how neat!

WHAT'D I THINK?
These colors were a lot of fun!  The Caroline is especially cool.  It's like a deep blood red.  The Leslie is fun too.  It would be nice over a really bright color.  I was more ambivalent about the Glenda.  Only because I don't wear a lot of crackles, but I DO love me some metallics, so silver is a safe bet for me.

WHAT ARE MY FINAL THOUGHTS?
First of all, I tend to be a nail polish junkie.  Nail polish doesn't judge.  It just sits there and is pretty on my nails.  :)  Julep makes very nice, high quality nail polish.  Plus they are always very trendy.  This tends to push me out of my comfort zone a bit - which I love!  I'm trying colors I never thought I would.  Plus, I love all the extra little stuff they have.  And I think they are a company that really listens to their customers.  There was a small uproar over the boxes including crackles.  A lot of people were voicing their displeasure.  So Julep came up with a new box that did not include any crackles as a last minute option.  I think that says a lot about a company that is willing and able to go out of their way to make their customers happy.  Plus if you really didn't like any of the boxes, then you can just skip that month!  That is some amazing flexibility.
