Delhi Police Seek Digital Makeover, Hires Social Media Agency To Showcase ‘Good Job’

In an era when cell phones have taken over the world and people use the internet for virtually everything in life, Delhi Police have decided to catch up and hire a social media team to attempt a digital makeover and to present their “good work”. .

According to reports, their Twitter profile is currently managed by a team of contract employees who are recent graduates with information technology expertise working with the special branch. However, senior officials in the department are looking for professionals for the task and are planning to hire a social media analytics and outreach management agency.

Delhi Police initiated the demands and met with several agencies in this regard.

Growing presence on social networks

“We have seen several cases of people appreciating unsung heroes after seeing an online post. We want to hire an agency to develop interesting and innovative content campaigns related to Delhi Police, to have proper communication strategy for various social media platforms, and to improve the reach of real-time content, ”a senior officer told The Indian Express.

He further stated that the media agency’s concepts and campaigns should be in line with the activities of the Delhi Police.

Another officer with knowledge of the matter told the publication the plan is to prepare cross-platform content for target audiences on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Speaking on the details, he said the agency should create and manage pages for all Delhi police units. The ideation should focus on the promotion of the pages, the website and the interaction with Internet users.

“They should post regularly, promote online and comments on posts should be maintained for maximum impact. They should also use Facebook to share videos or content that needs to go viral,” the officer said, according to The Indian Express.

Delhi Police has 632,000 Twitter followers but is far behind Mumbai Police, which has 5 million subscribers on the microblogging site.
